Experience the magic of the Yucatán

Celebrate at Otoch Ixchel

Some moments deserve more than an ordinary backdrop.

Otoch Ixchel — four acres of colonial gardens, two pools, ancient Mayan symbolism woven into every corner, and the golden light that makes Izamal one of the most photographed towns in Mexico — is a natural setting for life’s most meaningful celebrations.

We’re a boutique property, not a wedding factory. What we offer is intimacy, beauty, and genuine hospitality for small groups of up to around 30 guests. Whether you’re planning a vow renewal, a milestone anniversary, a birthday celebration, or an intimate destination wedding, we’ll work with you to make it feel like it was designed specifically for you — because it will be.

Photography

The grounds at Otoch Ixchel photograph beautifully at any hour, but especially at golden hour when the light in Izamal earns its reputation. The colonial arches, the gardens, the pools, the warm stone walls — every corner offers something worth capturing. We welcome photography sessions on the property for couples, families, and groups. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, marking a milestone, or simply want professional photos in an extraordinary setting, get in touch to discuss availability and rates.

Celebrations & Events

For weddings, vow renewals, and private celebrations, Otoch Ixchel provides the setting and the hospitality. We can accommodate up to 30 guests for daytime events, with overnight accommodation for up to six in our three guest rooms. We’re happy to help you connect with local vendors for catering, flowers, and additional services, and our knowledge of Izamal and the Yucatán means we can help make the surrounding experience as special as the event itself.

Every celebration is different. Contact us to tell us what you have in mind and we’ll be honest about what we can do.

A Note on Izamal

There’s something about getting married — or renewing your vows, or marking thirty years together — in a town that has been a place of pilgrimage and celebration for centuries. Izamal was sacred long before the Spanish arrived, and it still feels that way. The Convento de San Antonio de Padua is a short walk away. The pyramids are older than memory. The golden streets are yours to wander.

It’s a place that makes occasions feel significant.
